
The care home education team provide practical, tailored training to help care home staff and care providers stay up to date and confident in the care they deliver. Our aim is to support care homes and care providers in delivering high-quality, person-centred care that makes a difference to residents lives.
Our aim
- Help reduce hospital admission by educating staff on how to spot and respond to early signs of deterioration.
- Support care homes to provide high-quality, person-centred care for every resident.
- Support care home staff with the skills and knowledge they need to deliver excellent care.
- Build strong working relationships with care homes, care providers and other partners to improve training and care standards.
- Create clear, useful induction programmes for new care home staff.
- Keep training relevant by identifying new learning needs and making improvements.
- Develop a strong framework to ensure staff feel confident and capable in their roles.
- Regularly review our training to keep it evidence-based and aligned with current needs.
- Follow all local, national, and EPUT guidelines to provide safe, up-to-date training as a team.
What we do
- Delivery of 15 diverse clinical training programs tailored to various healthcare needs
- Facilitation of practical, hands-on face-to-face training sessions
- Providing ongoing support to carers and managers in care homes for their daily clinical requirements, with appropriate referrals to wider community services when necessary
- Participation in transformational pilot projects, including delegation of insulin administration (MSE) and skin tear management (Internal South East)
- Collaboration with clinical specialists to ensure training content remains current and evidence-based
- Offering training and support to Integrated Care Boards (ICB), District Nurses (DN), and Allied Health Professionals (AHP) as needed
