I have lived in the Southend area for over 15 years. I have a very wide range of interests which are pertinent to this role such as being a trustee for SEND The Right Message (an autism third sector provider) and have spent many thousands of hours volunteering in a variety of roles in areas such as homelessness, domestic abuse and poverty and deprivation. I did over 1000 hours as a vaccine centre steward across 2020/21. I am a very strong advocate for reducing health inequalities and ending all forms of marginalisation.

I have a very strong spirit of community and enjoy looking at just how we can create fairness and equity within every role I take on. I live with c-PTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) have mild Type II diabetes and arthritis and am a recovering smoker due to the realisation that this is a costly habit. I can bring a number of very strong personal qualities to this role. Firstly I am painfully honest and never shy away from ensuring that I always seek truth and honesty from all in every situation. I am currently an expert by experience and part of the EPUT PET (Patient Experience Team) where I already represent the needs of service users and safety.
