I am a Clinical Psychologist working within EPUT's psychological services. Over the years, my work has spanned inpatient, community and specialist settings, and I am passionate about supporting people through some of the most challenging periods in their lives.

I have had the privilege of working across a number of NHS Trusts, as well as within private and charitable sector organisations. These experiences have given me valuable insight into different approaches to leadership, culture and service delivery, and have fostered a strong interest in what helps organisations function effectively, support their workforce, and deliver safe, compassionate and effective care. As a psychologist, I am particularly interested in the relationship between organisational culture, staff wellbeing and the experiences of the people who use services.

Alongside my clinical work, I have become increasingly involved in teaching, supervision, service development and quality improvement. These experiences have reinforced my view that the best services are shaped through thoughtful leadership and genuine engagement with the experiences of both staff and service users. I am particularly interested in creating environments where people feel able to think, learn and work better together, and where curiosity and reflection are valued alongside performance and outcomes.

As a Clinical Staff Governor, I hope to bring a frontline perspective, encourage open dialogue and reflection, and support the Trust in continuing to develop services that meet the needs of our communities.

Why I became a Governor
I chose to become a Governor because I have a strong interest in how organisations improve. Throughout my career, I have seen the impact that leadership, culture and staff engagement can have on both the experience of employees and the quality of care provided to service users. The Governor role offers an opportunity to contribute beyond my clinical position, representing clients', carers' and colleagues' views and supporting constructive challenge and organisational development.
Overall, I hope to bring a psychologically informed perspective, alongside a genuine interest in how people, teams and organisations thrive.
