Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is the PLACE to be for cleanliness, food, privacy and dignity according to a recent report from the Patient Led Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE).
EPUT scored highly and was above the national average in the six areas that were assessed earlier this summer.
For cleanliness, the Trust scored 99.9% while the national average was 98.4%.
The Trust scored 93.5% for the quality of the food it provides for patients and the national average was 89.7%.
For privacy and dignity, the Trust scored 89.1% while the national average was 83.7%.
97.9% was the score for the condition, appearance and maintenance of the Trust’s inpatient sites while the national average was 94%.
The Trust scored 92.6% for dementia care while the national average was 76.7%.
For making the environment accessible to people with a disability, the Trust scored 90% and the national average was 82.5%.
Over the last two years, the Trust has maintained a 100% score for cleanliness in five of its inpatient sites; Basildon Mental Health Unit, Clifton Lodge, Rawreth Court, St Margaret’s Hospital and Thurrock Hospital.
Ian Crockett, Associate Director of Estates and Facilities said: “This is a really positive result which is a reflection of the dedication of our staff who constantly work hard to improve the patient environment and experience. We cannot be complacent and will keep working hard to maintain the high standards that our patients have come to know and expect from us.”
