Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is offering free blood pressure checks at St Margaret’s Hospital after an event earlier this month identified people at risk.
A stroke nurse will be available in the foyer of the hospital in Epping between 9.30am and 3pm on Wednesday 28 May for members of the public to have their blood pressure checked without the need for an appointment.
The additional checks follow an event held on 9 May for Stroke Awareness month which saw more than 40 people have their blood pressure checked and receive information about reducing their risk of stroke.
Thanks to the event, a stroke nurse was able to offer those found to have high blood pressure advice and signposting to their GP for further support.
