Whether you’re planning on enjoying Valentine’s Day alone, with friends, with that special other person or heading out for a party, Sexual Health Lead Nurse Karen Payne says just one thing matters: staying safe.
“For many, Valentine’s Day means careful planning of romantic gifts and gestures for a partner, but for other people it’s another opportunity to party with friends,” Karen said.
“Whether the aim is to have a good time, specifically looking for a future ‘special someone’ or something else, often it’s the unplanned encounters that can have a lasting effect.”
“Everyone should carry a condom with them and if you’ve not been tested for sexually transmitted infections in the last year, or since you had a new sexual partner contact KWC or Carlingford Centre for a test.”
