Sally Morris, Chief Executive, for Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust said:
“We can confirm that sadly, a patient in their nineties with underlying health conditions has passed away within our inpatient services. They had tested positive for COVID-19.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

The trust, DHSC, NHS England and NHS Improvement will not be giving out any further information on this patient.
