An engraved bench has been donated to Clifton Lodge Care Home which is run by Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) by the family of Grietje Gadsden, a former resident there.

Mr Chris Gadsden said:
“Clifton Lodge is a wonderful place that my wife was lucky to spend her last six months in. Grietje was treated really well during her time there and we want everyone to know what a wonderful place it is.”
Mark Gadsden, son of Mrs Gadsden, completed a 26-mile walk from Romford to Clifton Lodge on the day the bench was delivered and raised £2,500 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Clifton Lodge in Westcliff has 35 bedrooms and allows residents to live in a homely environment. The residents enjoy a packed programme of activities such as singing, games and a variety of entertainment from invited guest performers. Families and carers are also encouraged to participate.
Pippa Crocket, Nursing Home Manager at Clifton Lodge said:
“Clifton Lodge is a great place to work. We often hear residents belting out songs after lunch and it’s really good to hear. We are guests in our residents’ homes and it is a privilege to be there and work with such wonderful people.”
