Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is working with patients and their families to drive the transformation of our mental and physical health services.
One of the ways in which we do this is to collect feedback so we can identify areas for improvement, better understand our patients’ needs and preferences, and improve the quality of care we deliver.
Of the 8,000 people who have provided feedback through iWantGreatCare healthcare review surveys in the last two years, 94% have left positive feedback.
We are looking for more volunteers to collect feedback from patients across our services and sites in Essex.
Nida Jaffri is one of our volunteers, who said helping patients and supporting staff gives her a sense of purpose.
She said: “To know I am helping others brings immense satisfaction to me.
“If you have ever thought about giving something back to the community, I strongly encourage you to look into volunteering at our hospitals.
“This is a very good chance for you to make someone’s day a bit brighter, grow as a person, and join the company of wonderful people.”
Chloe Ramsey said: “As a final-year psychology student, volunteering with EPUT to speak to patients for iWantGreatCare has been a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and expand my knowledge in the field.
“I find it incredibly fulfilling and purposeful, as it allows me to give back to the community while also enhancing my personal and professional growth.”
The role will suit someone who is interested in people’s stories, cares about their wellbeing and enjoys open and honest conversation.
Empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in improving the patient experience are essential.
