An activities co-ordinator at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) has donated 15 inches of her hair to charity for the sixth time.
Kim Maxwell who works at Rawreth Court, a residential care home in Rayleigh, has donated her locks to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that offers free wigs for children who have lost their own hair.
The selfless act will help the charity provide real hair wigs for young people fighting cancer or other serious health conditions, helping to restore confidence and comfort to those in need.

Kim said: “The first time I donated my hair was after my hairdresser suggested it when I had a big cut. Since then, I try to grow it as long as I can so I can help as many children as possible.
“It makes me feel happy to know that instead of my hair just being wasted and thrown away, it’s used to help children that need it. It’s amazing how they can turn my hair into a beautiful wig.”
