Shared Care Record roadmap

We are committed to continuously enhancing the Shared Care Record by expanding the range of data shared across the system. These improvements will ensure that health and care professionals have a more comprehensive view of a person’s care, improving outcomes and the overall experience for both people who are receiving and delivering care.

All dates outlined below are indicative. Please keep an eye on your organisation’s internal updates for more details as these enhancements roll out.

December 2025:

  • New datasets added:
    • MSEFT TCI Live

October 2025:

  • Purging of records (Thurrock Council) 

September 2025:

  • New partners gained access:
    • Whitecroft Care home live with direct access
    • Hamelin charity live with direct access.
  • New datasets added:
    • Radiology reports from Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust 

August 2025:

  • New partners gained access:
    • Essex Partnership University Trust mental health services using the Mobius IT systems

July 2025:

  • New partners gained access:
    • Direct Access for St Francis Hospice

June 2025:

  • New datasets added:
    • Data from St Luke’s, Farleigh, and Havens hospices

May 2025:

  • New datasets added:
    • Adult social care data from Essex County Council 
    • Outpatient attendance data from Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust

April 2025:

  • New partners gained access:
    • St Luke’s, Farleigh, and Havens hospices

February 2025:

  • New datasets added:
    • NHS 111 data from IC24

January 2025:

  • New partners gained access:
    • Southend City Council (adult social care)
  • New datasets added:
    • Inpatient admissions from Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust 
    • Emergency department attendances from from Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust

November 2024:

  • New partners gained access:
    • IC24 – NHS 111 (Cleo users) 

October 2024:

  • New partners gained access:
    • Thurrock Council (adult social care) 
  • New datasets added:
    • Adult social care data from Southend City Council and from Thurrock council 
    • Emergency department discharge summaries from Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust 
    • Maternity discharge letters from Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust 

August 2024:

  • Initial version of the Shared Care Record launched. This marked the start of our journey to connect more organisations and datasets to the Shared Care Record

Future milestones

Expected Q1 2026:

  • New partners getting access:
    • EPUT acute mental health services using the Paris system 
  • New datasets being added:
    • Mental health documents from Essex Partnership University Trust

Phase 2 Roadmap

  • New partners getting access:
    • Extended Direct access for East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust
  • New datasets being added:
    • Pathology results from MSEFT
    • Transforming SystmOne data from unstructured format into structured data
    • Key patient summary information from the National Record Locator including data from East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust 
    • Children’s social care data
  • New functionality:
    • Care planning tools, beginning with a focus on Discharge to Assess (D2A) health assessment forms for AHPs/ therapists
